Tuckahoe State Park
Tuckahoe State Park has trails for riding but it is also the site of
Tuckahoe Equestrian Center. They sponsor lots of activities at the park
and elsewhere (like Fair Hill). They also have wild west days in
September.

Happy Hills Campground
The Happy Hills Campground is located in Hancock MD.
I-70 Directions: Take I-70 to Exit 1-b-Rt. 522S. Hancock, 0.2 mile
Hancock exit, 144 West 2.4 miles, left on Willow Road 2.8 miles, left on
Seavolt Road.04 miles.
Unsure of the miles of trails. They have marked mountain trails and the C&O
canal National Park near by.
A new 20 stall barn or bring your portable corral.
There are 200 camp sites and 9 camping cabins.
There are bathhouses with hot showers, a swimming pool,
miniature golf, game room etc...

Tuckahoe Equestrian Center
The Tuckahoe Equestrian Center is a fast-growing, family and youth-oriented equine facility
located on the Eastern Shore of Maryland in Tuckahoe State Park, near the town of Ridgely.
We are a not-for-profit, 501 (c)(3) organization, actively promoting all equestrian
activities such as 4-H, trail riding, driving, jousting, parades and horse shows which
include jumping, dressage and English or Western equitation.

Hoof Prints in The Sand
Parsonsburg: Hoof Prints is a recreational and therapeutic trail riding center located in the Wicomico
Forest on the eastern shore of Maryland. The eastern shore has mild temperatures and we
welcome riders any time of the year.
Hoof Prints offers horse campers comforts and conveniences in a natural setting. Bring
your horses, tents, RVs and stay with us or use our horses if you'd like.
We offer naturalist guided trail rides,
therapeutic riding by NARHA certified instructors, and horse camping. Hoof
Prints' is set on 20 private acres with trail access to 1200 acres of trails and
roads maintained by Maryland's Department of Natural Resources.
Just a 25 minute drive to Assateague National Sea Shore, riding the beach with the wild
ponies is a highlight for our campers. I have attached a flyer with more
information about Hoof Prints. We welcome all riders for a unique eastern shore
experience!

Baltimore and Annapolis Trail
Anne Arundel County, 13 mi. Asphalt surface. (410)222-6244
Goldmine Loop Trail
Montgomery County, 3 mi. Dirt surface.
Lower Susquehanna Heritage Greenway
Harford County, 50 mi. Crushed stone surface.
Mill Trail, Howard County
1 mi. Gravel ballast surface.
Northern Central Railroad Trail
Baltimore/Carroll County, 21 mi. crushed
stone surface.
I've ridden this one on bike extensively. It's a beautiful trail that's
mostly flat. It extends beyond Baltimore County into Carroll County where it
becomes more hilly and then it continues into Pennsylvania as far as York.

Gillis Falls Equestrian Trails
Carroll County, 5 mi. woodland with stream crossings.
Union Mills Equestrian Trails
Carroll County, 8 mi. woodland/meadow with stream crossings.
Morgan Run Natural Environment Area Trails, Carroll County
I'm not sure of the length of this trail, but it's at least 10k, woodland/meadow with stream
crossings.
Piney Run Equestrian Trails
Carroll County, 9.6 miles also with stream crossings.

Big Gunpowder Falls
We enjoy riding along the Big Gunpowder Falls in Gunpowder Falls State Park. The Big Gunpowder Trail runs
from Rt 40 (Pulaski Hwy) to Harford Road at least 10 miles. There are several loops-Cow Branch Trail, Lost
Pond Trail, Sawmill Trail, Stockdale Trail and Sweathouse Trail-that probably add another 10 miles of
riding. So, you can make a nice day of riding. There is a small parking lot off of RT 40 on Jones Road and
a large parking lot on Rt 1 (Belair Road) at the Big Gunpowder.

Potapsco Valley State Park
We enjoy riding in the Potapsco Valley State Park near Ellicott City. There is over 170 miles of trails.
We park in the McKeldin Area off Marriottsville Road.

Fair Hill
Fair Hill is 5,613 acres with an extensive trail system near Elkton on Route 273. There is camping and
stables by reservations. 410-398-1246 .

Gambrill State Park
Gambrill State Park is located on Route 40 west of Frederick. Trailhead Parking Lot is about halfway up
the mountain. All trails loop and return to the parking lot except Cotoctin Trail. The Catoctin Trail
traverses 26.5 miles through the Frederick City Watershed, Cunningham Falls State Park and Cotoctin
Mountain National Park.There are three overlooks offering excellent views of the surrounding area.

Susquehanna State Park
Susquehanna State Park is a great place to spend a day riding. It is located 3 miles north of Havre de
Grace. Parking is available at the maintence barn. You can ride along the Susquehanna River to the
Conowingo Dam and trails in the hills overlooking the river. There is also the Rock Run Mansion and Grist
Mill and the Stepping Stone Museum.
